• Why you need Kick-Ass SEO (even if you don’t know what SEO is)

Do you have Kick Arse SEO?

This is a message that I got from my business partner Mel (aka Search-Mel) the other day…

We got our first true organic visitor today who searched for “website strategy courses”. And for “internet strategy courses” – we are on page one for the whole world!!

Mel, in 6 weeks, has succeeded in getting our website on the first page of Google, globally, for some of our key search terms..

Now I must confess that SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is like a foreign language to me. But I am savvy enough to know this… if you are serious about your website being found by customers and potential customers you need kick-ass SEO to give you the best chance possible.

What I also know is that when all is said and done, if you are hard to find in the search engines you will miss out on business opportunities through your online efforts.

I figure you have two choices:

    1. Learn SEO yourself

If you love finding out how things work, have an interest in learning the technical side of internet marketing and have some time and money you should learn SEO yourself. Consume as many books, courses and articles as you can and apply the teachings to your website/s while closely analysing the results. You can start by reading SEO and other important search related terms.

This can take some time and commitment but will pay off in the long run if you plan to make an income online.

    2. Use an SEO expert

If like me the thought of learning SEO pains your brain, get an expert on board. Hiring or partnering with an SEO guru will leave you to focus on other aspects of your business, but be warned… there are many people in the industry who offer SEO that only understand the basics (at best!) or won’t tell you the whole story.

SEO specialists are a holy breed, and there are thousands of people who look and sound just like them. But, as I have learned the hard way, I can tell you that if they are not EXPERTS it can be a costly relationship.

To avoid throwing your money away, make sure you ask someone to explain for you the whole concept of SEO in laymen’s terms. You want to understand what is possible so that you can create some tangible goals for your website with your SEO expert and then hold them to account to achieve them.

To qualify your expert ask for references from other clients of theirs, find out what search terms they are focusing on and then do some undercover work to see where they rate on Google for those terms.

Which ever way you go, make sure you mark Kick-Ass SEO as essential for your business website and take an interest in how easily you are found in the search engines. As the next step, discover What your new website needs for Search Engine Optimisation

I was just doing some surfing on my Jack Phone during my break at my work place, and I came across something I thought was intriguing. It linked to your website so I clicked over. I can’t really find the relevance between your site and the one I came from, but your site good none the less .

Good read … headline catchy … good points, some of which I have learned along the way as well (humility, grace, layoff the controversial stuff). Will share with my colleagues at work as we begin blogging from a corporate perspective. Thanks!

My company and all Professional SEO companies sign Non-Disclosure Agreements with our clients so we are not allowed to give out that information and even if we could our clients are very busy running their business, these include Fortune 500 Companies, and do not have the time to take calls, so using this as a criteria for hiring an SEO company means you could miss out working with top SEO experts.

We consult with our future clients and explain what we can do for them, how much they need to invest and how it will help their business!
